Combine perfectly packaged guitar pop with theatrical spook-rock. You can’t? Melodramas can.

Melodramas are Matt (Vocals), Rob (Guitars), Greg (Bass) and Sam (Drums).

They’ve spent the last year recording with multi-platinum producer Sam Williams (Supergrass, Plan B, Noisettes) and touring distant shores (China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia, Kuwait). Closer to home, the band have been personally requested by Taylor Hawkins and David Johansson of The New York Dolls to join their bands on tour in the UK.

Melodramas release their ‘Kids EP’ on 5th March 2012 through Jelly Maid Music.

It is arguably the first extended play of the year to pay homage to B-Movies, Elephants and Chet Atkins. All songs are produced by Sam Williams and the track ‘Betelgeuse’ features guest backing-vocals from Gaz Coombes. “Just as well,” says Matt, “as we totally plagiarised his old band”.

The ‘Kids EP’ will be released digitally and on limited edition collector’s CD. Restricted to a hundred copies, the CD will be packaged in a melodramatic metal tin with poster card and associated surprises.
